# Privacy and data

Your Blender files, checkpoints and chats stay on your computer. Your prompts go to the AI model that does the work.

## On your computer

The data folder is named `Jan` for technical reasons. It belongs to 3D-Agent.

To move it, open **Settings** → **General** → **App Data** → **Change Location**. 3D-Agent moves your data and restarts.

Checkpoints and chats on your computer are yours to delete. Remove old checkpoints in **Settings** → **Checkpoints**.

## Sent to the cloud

| Your account | Email address and subscription status |
| Your prompts | The text you send and the answers, which go to the AI model provider that runs the agent |
| Media generation | Prompts, source pictures, reference images and motion clips for the Image and Video Generator plugins, which go to a media provider |
| Usage | How many prompts you use, without their content |
| Diagnostics | Error reports, which can include your email and short log excerpts |
| Quality samples | A redacted sample of the first prompts and answers in each chat |
| Product analytics | How the app is used, with a pseudonymous ID |

## Session recording

Session recordings can capture your screen in the app, including chats, prompts and scenes. They're kept for 30 days.

To turn them off, open the [web dashboard](https://app.3d-agent.com/dashboard), go to **Profile** and switch off **Help improve 3D-Agent**. The desktop app follows that setting.
