# Projects and attachments

A project groups related chats and the reference files they share. It's a folder for chats, not a Blender file. [Checkpoints](https://3d-agent.com/docs/checkpoints) belong to the `.blend`, whichever chat edits it.

## Create a project

1. In the sidebar, click **New Projects**, or press ⌘P on macOS or Ctrl+P on Windows.
2. Enter a **Project Name** and click **Create**.

The project page has a composer for starting chats, a **Conversation** list, a **Files** card and a **Plugins** card.

## Move chats in and out

Open a chat's menu in the sidebar and choose **Add to project** or **Remove from project**.

## Share files with a project

Add PDFs, documents or other text to the **Files** card, up to 20 MB each. Every chat in the project uses them as reference. A file you add later reaches each chat with its next message.

Good project files include a brief, a style guide or a list of assets with their sizes. A short `.md` style guide keeps every asset in the project consistent.

## Set plugins for a project

The **Plugins** card sets which plugins are on by default in new chats in the project. Each chat can still change them. See [Plugins](https://3d-agent.com/docs/plugins).

## Where renders appear

- **Scene preview:** after a turn that changes the scene, a preview card shows the result. Click it to see it full size.
- **In answers:** renders the agent makes appear in its reply.
- **In checkpoints:** every checkpoint has a thumbnail.

To keep renders out of the chat, turn on **Settings** → **Appearance** → **Hide scene thumbnails**. Answers still arrive in full, and checkpoint thumbnails stay.

## Next steps
