# Updates

3D-Agent checks for updates on its own and asks before installing them. Each update takes you straight to the latest version.

## Install an update

When a new version is out, **New Version** appears at the bottom right with the version number.

- **Update Now** downloads and installs it, then restarts 3D-Agent.
- **View Changelog** shows what changed.
- **Remind Me Later** lets you pick **In 5 minutes**, **In 15 minutes**, **In 1 hour** or **In 4 hours**.

Then restart Blender. Until you do, the banner shows **Waiting for Blender to reload the extension…**.

## Required updates

Updates marked **Required Update** can't be postponed. They download and install on their own.

## Check for updates yourself

Open **Settings** → **General** and click **Check for Updates**. If you're up to date, you see **You're running the latest version**.

## If updates don't install

- **macOS:** turn on **App Management** for 3D-Agent. Without it, you install every update by hand. See [Permissions](https://3d-agent.com/docs/permissions).
- **Any system:** download the latest version from [3d-agent.com/download](https://3d-agent.com/download) and install it over your current one.
