Plugins

Roblox

The Roblox plugin gets a model from Blender onto Roblox. It checks the model against Roblox Marketplace requirements, repairs what it can and uploads it to your Roblox account.

To work inside Roblox Studio instead, see Roblox Studio (Developer).

Connect your Roblox account

  1. Open Plugins and click Install on Roblox.
  2. Click Connect.
  3. Sign in to Roblox in your browser and approve access. The browser shows Account connected.
  4. Back in 3D-Agent, click the Roblox card. It shows Connected as with your Roblox name and ID.

If you close the browser before you finish, click Connect again.

To switch accounts, click the Roblox card, click Disconnect and connect again. Disconnect removes the sign-in stored on your computer.

Check, fix and upload

Ask in plain words:

Check this model for the Roblox Marketplace and upload it.

The agent then:

  1. Checks the model against Roblox Marketplace requirements.
  2. Fixes the issues it can, naming each one.
  3. Checks again to confirm the fixes.
  4. Uploads the model to Roblox and gives you the asset ID.

Model and avatar modes

  • Model mode is for props and is the default.
  • Avatar mode is for a full R15 character with its 15 body parts. Ask for it by name, for example Check this as a Roblox avatar.

In avatar mode, the agent also creates the attachment points Roblox needs and builds the R15 rig. Roblox generates the avatar’s cages when you upload, so the agent only reports cage issues.

To model the character first, see the Roblox character maker  guide.

What the check looks for

CheckCan the plugin fix it?
More than 10,742 triangles in a mesh or in the whole sceneYes, by reducing triangles. You lose detail.
Textures larger than 2048 × 2048 pixelsYes, by shrinking the texture. You lose detail.
Faces with more than 4 sidesYes, by triangulating them.
Object scale not appliedYes.
Model outside Roblox’s size rangeYes, if one uniform scale can fit it.
A mesh with no UV mapNo. Ask the agent to UV unwrap the mesh, then check again.

Avatar mode also checks body part names, attachment points and the triangle budget for each body part.

Upload

The upload checks the model again first. It stops if any error is left, so the agent fixes issues before it tries again.

  • The upload exports the whole scene to FBX. Remove anything that isn’t part of the model first.
  • Uploads go to your connected account by default. To publish to a group, give the group ID.
  • The agent says which account it’s publishing as, so you can spot a wrong one.
  • Roblox processes the upload in the background. The agent follows it and gives you the asset ID when it’s done.

Tips for Roblox models

  • 1 Blender unit is 1 Roblox stud, so give sizes in studs.
  • If parts land in the wrong place after import, ask Apply all transforms and set origins before export.
  • For a model with many parts that you export by hand, split it into loose parts and export the selected objects in batches, not the whole scene.

To export by hand instead, the Blender to Roblox  guide covers FBX and OBJ export with the scale, normal and mesh-limit fixes.
