Using 3D-Agent

Chat commands

Type @ in the composer to point the agent at something specific. You can mention an object in your Blender scene, turn on image or video generation, or name a reference image.

The @ menu

Type @ at the start of the prompt or after a space. Keep typing to filter the menu.

It lists these groups, in order:

GroupWhat you pickShows up
Reference imagesAn image you added for a videoWhile an @video chip is in the prompt
Capabilities@image or @videoIf you’re in the media generation beta
Cameras, Lights, Meshes, ObjectsAn object in your open Blender sceneWhile Blender is connected
KeyAction
↑ / ↓Move
Enter or TabPick
EscClose

The item you pick becomes a chip in the prompt. Press Backspace right after a chip to delete it.

Mention scene objects

The menu lists every object in your open scene, hidden ones included, grouped by type. Type the start of a name to find it:

Make @Chair taller and add armrests.

The agent gets the object’s exact name, so it acts on the right one even when names look alike, like Cube.001 and Cube.002.

  • The list is read from Blender each time you open the menu.
  • If an object is missing, check its name in Blender’s Outliner, then click Refresh.

Only objects are listed. For materials, collections or anything else, describe them in words, or select them in Blender and say the selected objects.

@image

Pick @image to let the agent generate or edit an image in this message. The composer shows Image inputs with a Source picture slot for the picture you want to edit.

See Image Generator.

@video

Pick @video to let the agent generate a video in this message. The composer shows Video inputs, with slots for Reference images and a Motion reference clip.

See Video Generator.

Mention reference images

While @video is in the prompt, the menu lists your reference images first, with how many of the 5 you’ve used. Pick one to name it in the prompt, like @video Make @hero walk into @kitchen and wave.

Pick Add reference image… to add another one. Hover a reference chip to see its image.

See Name and mention reference images.

What isn’t a command

  • @image and @video only work as chips picked from the menu. Typed or pasted text doesn’t turn them on.
  • Each message needs its own @image or @video chip. They don’t carry over to the next message.
  • There are no slash commands. A message that starts with / is sent as plain text.
  • An @ inside a word, like in an email address, doesn’t open the menu.
