Image Generator

The Image Generator makes an image from your prompt, or edits a picture that’s already in the chat. Use it for concept art, reference sheets or quick texture ideas before you model.

Generate an image

  1. In the composer, type @ and pick @image under Capabilities. It becomes an @image chip.
  2. After the chip, describe the image and send it:

A front and side reference sheet of a small cartoon robot with round eyes, plain white background.

The agent writes the final prompt, generates the image and shows it in its reply. Click Show in folder under the image to find the file.

Typing the letters @image without picking them from the menu doesn’t turn it on. Each message that should generate an image needs its own @image chip.

Edit a picture

With @image in the prompt, the composer shows Image inputs with a Source picture slot.

  1. Click Source picture.
  2. Click Upload, drop a file in, or pick an image attached to the message or already in the chat.
  3. After the @image chip, describe the change and send it:

Make this render look like a watercolor painting.

The source picture must be a PNG, up to 12 MB.

You can also leave the slot empty and describe the image you mean, like the image you just made. The agent picks it from the chat.

Where images are saved

Each image is saved as a PNG in the chat’s own folder, inside the 3D-Agent app data folder. You can use it as a source picture or a video reference later in the same chat.

To keep images out of the chat view, turn on Settings → Appearance → Hide scene thumbnails.

Limits

  • It works in chats started after you joined the beta.
  • One image every 10 seconds.
  • You can’t set the size or aspect ratio. Describe the framing you want in the prompt instead.
  • Blender must be connected, like for any other message.
  • Generating doesn’t use an extra prompt right now. The message that asks for it counts as a normal prompt.

Your prompt and source picture are sent to a media generation provider. See Privacy and data.
