Getting started

Introduction

3D-Agent (3d-agent.com ) is an AI agent for Blender. Describe what you want in plain language, and it builds it in your scene.

It’s a desktop app for macOS and Windows. It installs its own Blender extension, so there’s nothing to set up in Blender.

How 3D-Agent works

  1. The desktop app installs its agent_3d extension into Blender 4.2 or later and connects to your open scene.
  2. You describe what you want in the chat. You can attach sketches, photos or renders as references.
  3. 3D-Agent works in steps. It inspects the scene, builds with Blender’s tools and Python, takes screenshots, checks the result and fixes what’s off.
  4. After each turn that changes the scene, it saves a checkpoint you can restore.
  5. You get ordinary Blender objects in your open scene. Refine them with a follow-up or by hand, then save or export from Blender.

3D-Agent sends your prompts and what it reads from the scene to AI models in the cloud, so you need an internet connection when you prompt. Each message uses one prompt from your plan, however many steps it takes, up to your plan’s step limit. See Plans and limits.

What you can do

  • Model props, characters and buildings from a description, with quad-dominant topology.
  • Refine with follow-ups. 3D-Agent reads your viewport, so each prompt builds on the scene.
  • Move objects, cameras and lights with a sentence, then render again.
  • Automate Blender. 3D-Agent writes the Python for lighting, modifier stacks and batch jobs.
  • Animate objects, camera fly-throughs and rigs.
  • Export as OBJ, FBX, GLB or USDZ from Blender.
